Mechanism of Action： Bacitracin (Baci-IM) interferes with the dephosphorylation of the C55-isoprenyl pyrophosphate, a molecule that carries the building-blocks of the peptidoglycan bacterial cell wall outside of the inner membrane. Bacitracin has been claimed to be a protein disulfide isomerase inhibitor in cells,but this is disputed by in vitro studies.
